How long does it take to build a custom home?
Typically, building a custom home takes 10-14 months from groundbreaking to completion. However, the total timeline including the design phase and permitting can span 14-18 months. Factors like weather, material availability, and complexity of design can impact the schedule, but we’ll provide you with a detailed timeline specific to your project.
How much input will I have during the building process?
You’ll have as much input as you’d like throughout the entire process. We schedule regular meetings to review progress and make selections for everything from flooring to fixtures. Or you can look to us to make a lot of the decisions based on your vision and wants. While we guide you with our expertise, this is your dream home, and we want you to be involved in every key decision.
What is the first step in building a custom home?
The best first step is scheduling an initial consultation with us. During this meeting, we’ll discuss your vision, budget, and timeline while explaining our building process. From there, we can guide you through selecting/evaluating land if needed, and beginning the design phase.
How do you handle changes during construction?
We understand that sometimes changes are necessary as you see your home taking shape. We manage changes through clear communication of their costs, and any timeline impacts. Any proposed change is detailed in writing with associated costs before work proceeds, ensuring there are no surprises. We’ll also advise you on how changes might affect your move-in date so you can make informed decisions.
